Our
Music
How
Can You Live
With
powerful lyrics, passionate songwriting and hard-hitting
emotion, DCF Ministries' latest disc is a powerhouse of
pop sensibility and necessary truth for today's world.
A great collection of original music is accompanied by
selections from artists like Andre Crouch ("If I
Was a Tree"), Russ Taff ("New Creation"),
and favorite hymns, arranged to suit listeners of today's
contemporary Christian music.
Wonderful
session musicians including Tommy Tomasello, Jeannine
O'Neal and Eddie Mininfield perform with fresh confidence,
while guest vocalist Van Clements gives "Say So"
a different sound while maintaining the album's momentum.
With more of the Fryers' trademark interludes, a strong
modern mix and catchy rhythms, "How Can You Live"
is a disc worthy of any music-lover's collection.
Dan
& Carol
In
1996 Carol and I were given and opportunity to make our
first CD. So for the most part, we recorded our favorite
songs that other people wrote. Two of the songs were originally
performed by Bebe & Cece Winans (Lost Without You,
With My Whole Heart). We also did remakes by Leon Patillo
(Blessed Be The Name of The Lord), Brian Duncan (Lead
Me To The Water), Sandy Patti and Russ Taff (Home of The
Lord), and the Sharretts (Kingdom of The Lord). The CD
is highlighted by three originals and a hymn: George Fisher
(I Can't Be Stopped), A. Van Clements (Trust In The Lord),
Gilbert Ybarra & Debbie Romero (I Am Somebody) and
a new arrangement of the hymn "It Is Well."
Finally, we throw in a few little interludes that are
sometimes silly, and yet, sometimes just Dan and Carol.
Gordon Kelly took some great pictures for the CD, and
Jeannine O'Neal pretty much put it all together.
What
If I Told You
In
2003 Carol and I embarked upon project number twoa
CD entitled "What If I Told You." I (Dan Fryer)
had the honor of writing six of the 12 songs on the CD,
including the title track "What If I Told You."
This CD is filled with a little bit of everythingfrom
the blues, to a little bit of country, to R & B...
traditional hymn, adult contemporary, a little bit of
house, to worship. Our remakes were written by Marvin
Winans (I Wanna Get To Know You) and Reba Rambo &
Donny McGuire (I Never Knew Love). I believe that this
CD is highlighted by the two hymns (His Eye is on the
Sparrow and How Great Thou Art) and the originals by myself
and my friends like A. Van Clements (For the Sake of Christ).
Van is a Music Minister in Eugene Oregon, at Willamette
Christian Center. He has produced two worship CD's from
that church and somehow has the time to send Carol and
I a song every now and then, and I believe there is a
lot more on the way. Finally, the songs that God gave
to me to write, we love them all, but the title track
(What If I Told You) has been most effective and powerful
in grabbing the listening ear. This song encourages and
exhorts, and it will make you think about your life and
if you are making a difference in this world we live in.
Carol and I pray that you will let the light of God into
your life and then let that light shine in and through
you in a way that the world might see it and be saved.
